What is the difference between SmartCutPro and Kaai Workshop OS?
SmartCutPro is the cutting optimiser, customer cutting-list portal and auto-quotation. Kaai Workshop OS is the full system that adds CRM, accounting, project management and inventory around it. Most shops start with SmartCutPro and grow into Kaai Workshop OS.
Why is it monthly? Why not buy it outright?
Owning the equivalent capability outright (cutter, customer portal, quotation engine, integrations and hosting) is roughly 1 to 1.5 million KES upfront. At 5,000 KES/month you reach the cost of the cutter alone after about five years, and across that time you get every feature, fix and integration we ship, plus hosting and support, included. A perpetual self-hosted licence is available if you prefer to own it.
Can I import my parts list from Smart2D or Optimik?
Yes. We help you bring across your parts, board catalogue and prices during onboarding so you are not retyping anything.
Does it work offline?
SmartCutPro is web-based, so it needs a connection to optimise and quote. The fundi works from a printed, optimised plan at the saw, so the cutting itself does not depend on the network.
How fast is setup?
Same day. We onboard most workshops within 24 hours, including your board catalogue and prices.
Can my customers submit cutting lists themselves?
Yes. You share your /cutting-list link and customers enter their own parts. The list lands in your queue ready to optimise and quote, which removes transcription mistakes.
What boards are pre-seeded in the catalogue?
Common sheet stock (for example 18mm MDF, plywood and melamine boards) is pre-seeded, and you can add your own materials, sizes, prices and offcuts.
What if I want to host it on my own server later?
There is a perpetual self-hosted licence with an annual support option, so you can move SmartCutPro onto your own infrastructure whenever you want.
What support do you get and how fast do you reply?
You get 24/7 support over WhatsApp, and we reply fast.
Can I see SmartCutPro before I commit?

What happens if I cancel?
You can cancel anytime. There is no lock-in. Your workspace pauses and your data is kept so you can come back without losing anything.

No long contract and no lock-in. Plans are month to month, and the perpetual licence is there if you would rather own it.
Is there any lock-in if it does not work out?
No. Plans are month to month with no long contract, so you only keep paying while it is working for you. If something is not right after you start, talk to us on WhatsApp and we will make it right.

Yes. SmartCutPro is board cutting software for sheet materials including MDF, plywood, blockboard, chipboard and melamine. You enter the board sizes and thicknesses you stock, and it nests parts onto whole boards and produces a printable cutting layout for the saw.
